Iowa coach looking to cut down turnovers

January 20, 2009 By admin

Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says the Hawkeye’s struggles on the offensive end go beyond just shooting. The Hawks connected on only 36 percent from the field in Sunday’s loss at Purdue but also committed 19 turnovers.

Lickliter says they need to be able to complete passes and plays so they don’t create situations where they are in transition defense.

He says those turnovers are leading to easy baskets by the opponent, and that has happened in the last three Big Ten games. Lickliter says not only do you not get a shot, it breaks your defense down. Iowa hosts Wisconsin on Wednesday night.
