Pella cutting jobs at Sioux Center

January 30, 2009 By admin

An Iowa-based company, known for its windows and doors, is cutting more jobs at its northwest Iowa factory. Pella Corporation has announced it’ll lay off 86 workers at its Sioux Center plant, effective Monday.

Pella laid off 65 employees in Sioux Center in December. Along with the layoffs, hours are being cut for the remaining workers. Pella is going to a four-day work week at all of its Iowa facilities due to the housing market downturn. Officials hope the changes will be sufficient to get the company through the tough economic times.
