Iowa takes on Badgers

February 11, 2009 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on the road in the Big Ten to take on Wisconsin tonight. Despite being just 3-8 in the conference race coach Todd Lickliter says the Hawks still have plenty to play for. Lickliter says they want to be a good team and play good basketball and compete at a high level. He says the league is difficult and it is going to be a "tremendous challenge," and his team has to love that challenge.

After dropping six straight games the Badgers have bounced back with wins over Illinois and Penn State. Lickliter says many of the games were close and the Badgers have been playing good basketball.

Lickliter says you are judged on the record and the final score, but he says teams sometimes play well when they don’t win. Iowa is 13-11 overall and edged the Badgers in overtime in their first meeting.
