The Iowa State Cyclones will play Oklahoma State tomorrow night in the opening round of the Big-12 Tournament in Oklahoma City. The Cyclones are 15-16 overall and coach Greg McDermott says his team was victimized by poor shooting during a 4-12 conference race. McDermott says they knew going in to be successful they had to make jumpshots.

To make any noise in the tournament the Cyclones will need to rely on All Big-12 forward Craig Brackins, who finished second in the league in scoring. McDermott says Brackins’ scoring has doubled and his rebounding has improved and he’s able to play more minutes. He says Brackins has matured on the court and in practice.

McDermott says Brackins will see a variety of defenses against the Cowboys including double teams, and Brackins was able to pass it out, but McDermott says they weren’t able to make shots.

The Cowboys are 20-10 and the winner of that game will move on to take on Oklahoma.
