Police in Cedar Rapids are investigating a report that a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a home on the city’s southeast side. Lieutenant Kenneth Washburn says the girl told officers two men drove her to the house after she got into a car around four o’clock Tuesday afternoon.

"She was then taken to a house at a location we haven’t been able to identify yet and was sexually assaulted," Washburn said. It’s not clear yet if the men abducted the girl or if she willingly got in the car. "We don’t believe that she knew them, but we’re still investigating this and interviewing her regarding the circumstances," Washburn said.

The girl was able to escape from the home after the sexual assault. Her mother reported the incident to police Tuesday night. Police have not made any arrests or named any suspects. "We’re not sure of the race of the two suspects at this time," Washburn said. "We believe they’re both around 30 years old."

One suspect is about 5-foot-10, 220 pounds with a muscular build and a beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt. The other man is about 6-foot-1, 180 pounds with a thin build and a mustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and a black baseball cap. The girl said they were driving a gray, four-door car. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Cedar Rapids Police at 319-286-5400.
