Fort Dodge man charged in fatal shooting

A 29-year-old Fort Dodge man is under arrest after the shooting death of a woman early Sunday morning. Angel DeJesus Vega-Sanchez was charged with first degree murder in the incident that occurred at 1323 Fifth Avenue South at 4:14 A.M.

Fort Dodge police arrived to discover the female victim. She was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center by ambulance where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The name of the victim has not been released. Vega-Sanchez is being held in the Webster County Jail in Fort Dodge on a bond of one million dollars.
