A northeast Iowa couple with three children faces charges for allegedly letting a registered sex offender live in their home in Arlington. R

The incident began with an investigation into a theft at the Casey’s store in Maynard last Friday. Twenty-nine-year-old Julia Rodenberg was initially arrested and charged with theft in the fourth degree. During the investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff discovered that Rodenberg and her husband, Ian, were renting a room at their home to a person on the sex offender registry.

The Rodenberg’s have three small children, ranging in age from four to 10. Ian Rodenberg was then arrested and both he and his wife were charged with child endangerment.

The couple’s children have been turned over to the Department of Human Services and placed in foster care.
