Iowa City Police have arrested one man and are searching for another after a stabbing Saturday night. The victim is a 37-year-old man, who’s name is not being released. Police Sergeant Troy Kelsay says the man underwent surgery for stab wounds to the torso and is expected to survive.

Officers responding to the scene of the stabbing arrested 22-year-old Harry Rayton IV after a foot chase. Kelsay says Rayton was "extremely intoxicated" and was taken to the hospital for facial injuries suffered in a fall.

"Following his treatment and after he spent some time there in detox, he was transported to the Johnson County Jail," Kelsay said. "He was charged with attempted murder, joint criminal conduct and interference with official acts for attempting to flee."

Police are also looking for 19-year-old Adam Burkhart of Iowa City. He is wanted for willful injury causing serious injury. Kelsay says detectives are still investigating the events that led up to the stabbing.

The assault took place at Burkhart’s residence at 216 East Bloomington Street. Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the Burkhart’s arrest. The CrimeStoppers numbers is (319) 358-8477.
