Body found in Missouri River near Council Bluffs

June 17, 2009 By admin

A body was pulled from the Missouri River between Omaha and Council Bluffs Tuesday. River rescue crews started trolling the river about 1:45 Tuesday afternoon after a person on the pedestrian bridge between the cities spotted the body floating in the river.

The body was recovered near a casino.  Authorities say it had been in the water about three days. It’s believed to be a male between 18 and 30-years-old but it may take several days before an identification is made. An autopsy is planned.
