Class 4A: Ashley Vanderloo, Sioux City East

The senior first baseman was nearly perfect at the plate last week with nine hits in 10 official at-bats. Vanderloo had three doubles, drove in three runs and crossed the plate six times. She also had two stolen bases and three walks. Vanderloo was two-for-two with a pair of doubles and two RBI in a victory over Sioux City North and was four-for-four with a run scored in a victory over Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. One of the top hitters in the state, Vanderloo began this week with a .614 average.
