One person was killed, five hurt, in a collision between a pickup and a van Thursday night in southwest Iowa, near Griswold. A 9-1-1 call about the crash on Highway 92 near the intersection with 500th Street in Pottawattamie County, came in at around 8:42 p.m.

Both vehicles ended-up in the ditch along Highway 92. The impact rolled the van onto its roof. Dispatch reports from the scene indicated the two adults in the van were trapped for a time following the crash. One of the occupants died.

Officials say there were two adults and two teens were in the pickup. Two medical helicopters were called to the scene. Two of the victims to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. Three other victims of the crash were taken by ground ambulance to Creighton.

The names of the victims have not yet been released. Traffic in the area was shut down until after well after midnight. No other details are currently available.
