Waterloo police investigate drive-by shootings

June 22, 2009 By admin

Waterloo police are investigating two separate drive-by shootings that left three people injured. The first apparent incident occurred just after 8:30 Sunday night. Police say two unidentified victims were inside a home when shots from a passing vehicle entered the house. One person suffered a laceration to the head and the second victim was shot in the hand.

Then, shortly before 1 A.M. Monday, officers were called to a downtown intersection on a report of a shooting victim near the U.S. Highway 218 overpass. The female victim and witnesses told police the shot was fired from a passing vehicle. The injured woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated for a leg wound.
