Correctionville grocery closed by fire

September 30, 2009 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Residents in a small town east of Sioux City will have to make a road trip for groceries as the community’s only supermarket is temporarily closed. An early-morning fire at a vacant building in Correctionville caused an unknown amount of damage to the structure and a limited amount of smoke damage to the adjacent grocery store. Authorities say an electrical fire started in a wall connecting the structures. No injuries are reported. Clean-up is underway.
