Council Bluffs police charge man with kidnapping, sexual abuse

November 12, 2009 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Council Bluffs police have made an arrest in connection with the alleged kidnapping, burglary and assault of two females. Early this morning, the two women, 21-year old Regina Walker and 22-year old Jennifer Walker, of Council Bluffs, called police to report a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with and arrested, 44-year old Robert Butts (no address given).

During their investigation, officers discovered Butts was in possession of a handgun and knife, and had allegedly attempted to sexually assault one of the women. He’s facing charges that include first- degree kidnapping, second-degree sexual abuse, and 2 counts of first-degree burglary.

Butts was being held in the Pottawattamie County Jail. Officials say their investigation is on-going, and any further information to be released will be limited.
