The semester may be over but the Iowa defense will need to do its homework to get ready for the January fifth Orange Bowl. Defensive coordinator Norm Parker says the Hawks will need extra preparation to try and slow down Georgia Tech’s option attack.

Parker says in all the time they’ve been at Iowa, there has never been a team that will make the players study film and concentrate as hard every play as this team will. Parker says it takes more on the field preparation and off the field than any team they’ve played, or they won’t win.

Parker says the Hawkeyes have not faced an offense like this. He says the most option oriented team they’ve played was Illinois a couple of years ago. He says that’s the team most dedicated to the option that he can remember.
