Iowa’s Rick Stanzi says he will be ready for the Orange Bowl. The junior quarterback led the Hawkeyes to a 9-0 start but had his regular season cut short by an ankle injury against Northwestern. He has returned to practice as Iowa prepares to take on Georgias Tech on January fifth.

Stanzi says he is on schedule the way he thought he would be and says he’s happy to get back out into practice and get into the flow of things and be involved. Stanzi say as the long layoff is what he needed to get healthy. He says it’s good to be able to practice without having to worry about an opponent, as it helps all the team work on the fundamentals.

Tight end Tony Moeaki says Stanzi has not been rusty. He says the timing has been good and they still have two weeks before the game, so it’s just a matter of getting everyone on the same page.
