The UNI Panthers won their 14th straight game on Tuesday night but it was a struggle all the way. Despite shooting just over 40 percent the Panthers earned a hard fought 52-50 victory over Bradley in Cedar Falls.

Panther guard Ali Farokhmanesh says they struggled on offense with too many turnovers. He says they are a good defensive team and always are a struggle to play. Farokhmanesh led UNI with 14 points. He says Bradley did a good job of mixing up their defenses.

Farokhmanesh says it took them a long time to get into their offense and that slowed them down and then they didn’t move the ball against the zone defense. He says they need to execute better and it’s good they have a couple a days of practice coming up.

The team combined for 39 turnovers and just 38 baskets. U.N.I. coach Ben Jacobsen says both teams were trying to make plays and ended up turning the ball over. He says hit team “was just lucky” to come out with the win. The Panthers are now 15-1 overall and 6-0 in the Valley.
