The 20th ranked UNI Panthers could not overcome a sluggish start as they lost at Wichita State 60-51 as their school record 15 game winning streak came to an end. The Panthers struggled on offense in the first half and trailed 29-17 at the break.

U.N.I. coach Ben Jacobsen says they needed to score more in the first half and that consistency is what you need to win and they didn’t have it tonight.

Jacobsen says he is not concerned with how his team will handle the loss. He says they should handle it the way they handle anything, they take a day off, rest and come back and practice hard and get ready for Indiana State.

Jordan Eglseder led U.N.I. with 14 points while junior guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe was one of two players with 11. Ahelegbe says Wichita State deserves the credit for playing a great game, as he says they were really good defensively and the crowd gave them a sixth man.

Ahelegbe says the Panthers will bounce back. He says they are a good team and this loss does not define them or their season and they will come back.

U.N.I. falls to 7-1 in the Valley and 16-2 overall.
