Bennie Sapp looking to play a bigger role for Vikings

June 1, 2010 By admin

Former U.N.I. defensive back Benny Sapp is hoping to play a bigger role for the Minnesota Vikings next season. Sapp is going through off-season workouts. He signed a new contract a few months ago and spent much of last season as a nickel back for the Vikings. Sapp says he’s just working on things he didn’t do last year and would like to do this year.

Some key members of the Vikings secondary are missing right now due to injury. Sapp says they have to prepare like they are going into the season without them, but they will be back.

Sapp says it has been good to get back on the practice field. He says he thought it would be hard, but he says after the first two days, his legs came back to him.

The Vikings made it to the NFC championship game this past season.
