A 42-year-old woman was shot overnight in Cedar Rapids. Cedar Rapids Police say the woman was conscious and breathing when they found her shortly before two o’clock in the morning.
Carol Lekin had been shot, once, in the abdomen. Lekin, who is from Cedar Rapids, was in another neighborhood in the city to visit friends when the shooting happened. A spokeswoman for Cedar Rapids Police says Lekin’s injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
Linn County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward to anyone who may have information about the shooting, as police say they have no suspects.
