A death on a central Iowa worksite is under investigation. Webster County authorities said a man died Thursday afternoon while driving a bulldozer which ended up in a pond at a quarry just outside Fort Dodge.

The Webster County Sheriff’s office reported the man was operating the bulldozer when he suffered an apparent heart attack or other medical problem. The bulldozer went into the pond at the CertainTeed Corporation quarry. The incident happened early in the afternoon.

The name of the man has not been released pending notification of family members. Another quarry worker pulled the man out of the water before emergency crews arrived on the scene.
