Police have identified a United Parcel Service employee who was killed in an accident at the Des Moines Airport this morning. Des Moines Police Sergeant Jeff Edwards says 64-year-old Daniel Raber of Indianola was hit by a semi-truck that was pulling into an open gate.

“As the semi was pulling in and kind of swinging wide to make it through the gate, apparently Mr. Raber got caught between the trailer of the semi and the guard shack. It kind of pinched him in between the two,” Edwards said. Raber was transported to a Des Moines hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. The driver of the semi is identified as 29-year-old Si Mohammed Aboudou of Orlando, Florida. Edwards says Aboudou is a student driver and was accompanied by an instructor who was a passenger in the semi.
