The William Penn football team finally opens its home schedule on Saturday by hosting Quincy. The Statesmen have posted two lopsided road wins and this week moved into the NAIA rankings at number 20.

Penn coach Todd Haffner says they feel good about what has been going on and for them it seems like it has been a long time coming. Freshman quarterback Taylor Parsons directs an option attack that is averaging 392 yards of rushing. Haffner says Parsons is distributing the ball to the right person and making good decisions.

The defense has been equally impressive at stopping the run. Opponents average only 72 yards on the ground. They start three seniors and a junior who has played for three years, so they all know what each person is doing. Quincy has lost to a pair of rated foes coming into the game. Haffner says they are a good team that returns some players on defense.
