Free “Women and Money” conference is this weekend

October 6, 2010 By Dar Danielson

Registration continues for the “Women and Money” conference this Saturday in Des Moines. Deputy State Treasurer, Karen Austin, says it’s the fourth annual conference. Austin says the goal is to provide women access to financial information and experts for free. She says Jane Bryant Quinn a nationally known financial commentator, will speak and also sign her book.

Quinn’s book is called “Making the Most of Your Money NOW.” Austin says the conference tries to address the money issues facing women now and in the future. She says women learn in different ways and enjoy doing things in groups. Austin says a lot of women are bringing their daughters and they provide them with a lot of information especially on retirement, as women have different needs than men in retirement.

Austin says they’d like you to sign up ahead of time if possible. You can go to the website: www.iowawomenandmoney.com, and sign up as well as seeing the agenda for the conference. The doors open Saturday at the Polk County Convention Complex at eight a.m. You can attend without preregistering.
