A central Iowa couple is hoping to score a perfect ten with their wedding this weekend. Karleen Parrish of Jewell is marrying Tim Valley of Webster City on the tenth day of the tenth month of 2010 at 10:10 in the morning. Parrish says their first date was three years ago this month.

Parrish says, “We knew October was the month because that was our special month and we being silly at our mature age decided, hey, ten-ten-ten, why not?”

Parrish jokes that it will be difficult for her soon-to-be hubby to claim he forgot their anniversary date.

“You know guys and their memory banks,” Parrish says, laughing. “The more unique, the better, I think.” Parrish offered some advice to other Iowa couples who may be considering a wedding next year on November 11th of 2011 or even farther away, on December 12th of 2012.

“If you’re in love and the date is there, grab it and go for it,” Parrish says. “There’s nothing more special than having the love of that someone special in your heart and then to lock it up with another special date just makes it even more unique and more loving.” The ceremony will be performed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell right after the Sunday morning worship service.
