Davenport man charged with stealing money while stocking ATM’s

October 12, 2010 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Davenport man is charged with stealing stacks of money from the automatic teller machines he serviced. Forty-seven-year-old Joseph Griebe works for the Brink’s armored car company. He was arrested Monday and is charged with first-degree theft, a felony. He is accused of taking more than 40 grand from the automated teller machines on his route.

The Quad-City Times is reporting that discrepancies were discovered in July by the person who replaced Griebe while he was off work due to a broken foot. Court records indicate Griebe was the only person who had access to the money. He has posted $10,000 bond and is now out of jail.
