Morningside and Sioux Falls meet in Great Plains game of the year

October 15, 2010 By Todd Kimm

It has become the game of the year in the Great Plains Conference and it will be played out again this weekend as Morningside visits Sioux Falls. Both teams are unbeaten and Morningside is ranked fourth in the NAIA while defending national champion Sioux Falls is top ranked.

Morningside coach Steve Ryan says the last three years both teams have been undefeated in this game and the conference championship has ridden on it, and Sioux Falls has gone on to win the national championship two of those years. He says they have outstanding skill players with talented wide recievers and defensive backs that have transfered in for them.

Ryan says Sioux Falls plays like a two-time defending national champion as they go out every week believing that they are going to win. He says you have to go out and take the game from them. Ryan says to have a chance the Mustangs cannot turn the ball over.

Ryan says it is critical that they make good decisions and take care of the football.
