Parkersburg man sentenced to 10 years on gun charge

October 22, 2010 By O. Kay Henderson

A 45-year-old northeast Iowa man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on a gun and ammo charge. In January of 2000, Kevin Dann of Parkersburg was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault resulting in injury.

In March of this year, prosecutors say Dann “threatened to kill his girlfriend and fired a rifle.” Investigators found a rifle, ammunition and a spent found during a search of his home.

This summer, Dann pled guilty to one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was sentenced Thursday to a full decade behind bars. There is no parole in the federal system.
