A Nebraska man is being sued in connection with the August death of four motorcyclists in western Iowa. Relatives of two of the four men killed in the crash August 9th on Interstate 29 near Little Sioux, have filed lawsuits against 21-year-old Andrew Schlichtemeier of Murray, Nebraska.

The suits seeks unspecified monetary compensation from the man who is accused of running his pickup truck head-on into 49-year-old Dale Aspedon and 62-year-old Dennis Chaney, both of Glenwood, 62-year-old Steven Benscoter of Pacific Junction, and Jay C. Bock of Omaha. The four were on their way home from the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.

Iowa authorities say Schlichtemeier was drunk when he swerved into oncoming traffic and hit the motorcyclists. He’s pleaded not guilty to four counts of vehicular homicide, and remains in jail on $200,000 bond. His trial is set for December 7th.
