Iowa City assault apparently spurred by Facebook discovery

November 5, 2010 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A popular social networking website apparently played a key role in an assault in Iowa City. Police say 23-year-old Amy E. Jenkins of Tiffin learned last month via Facebook that her boyfriend was ending their relationship.

That’s according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Jenkins then allegedly went to her boyfriend’s home and found him with another woman. She then allegedly beat up the other woman. Police say Jenkins admitted to the assault during an interview. She’s charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
