A man wanted for an armed robbery in Florida was captured in Knoxville on Wednesday. Thirty-three-year-old Jason Haikey is wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery. Authorities say Haikey and another man allegedly shot a third man last month during a drug deal at a gas station in Orlando, Florida.

Haikey’s alleged partner in the crime was arrested in Florida shortly after the shooting. Police in Orlando suspected Haikey fled to Iowa after hearing of that arrest. U.S. Marshals and other local law enforcement officials tracked Haikey to Knoxville, where he was living and working as a roofer.

He was arrested Wednesday morning at a job site. A news release issued by the U.S. Marshals office in Des Moines described Haikey as a “major fugitive.” Haikey is being held in the Marion County Jail in Knoxville, pending his extradition back to Florida.
