Three 16-year-old Urbandale High School students have been arrested and charged with harassment in the first-degree for a bomb threat letter at the high school on Monday. Urbandale police lieutenant, Terry Nielsen says two of the students arrested claimed to have discovered the letter in a restroom.

Nielsen says the three face some serious consequences. He says the charge is an aggravated misdemeanor and the three could see some jail time. Nielsen says they will be process through the juvenile court, which will decided their punishment. Nielson says these threats are not considered to be some type of fun prank.

Nielsen says the police and school administration take all the threats very seriously. The three people charged are Bao Pham, Austin Corrigan and Samuel Prichett. The were processed and released to their parents.

It’s the second arrest following bomb threats at schools in the Des Moines sububurbs this week. An 18-year-old Ankeny student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly leaving a note with a threat in a bathroom at the school.
