UNI women return to action

December 2, 2010 By Radio Iowa Contributor

The U.N.I. women return to action at home this evening against Northern Illinois. The Panthers are 3-2 after splitting two games at the New Mexico State tournament. Panther coach Tanya Warren wants to see improvement at the defensive end of the court. Warren says they have to get back to the basics of defense and then boxing out after a shot.

Warren says the Panthers will need a better effort on defense against a Northern Illinois team that is off to a 4-3 start. She says they need to keep the ball out of the paint and continue to push the ball in transition and stick open shots.

With the McLeod Center hosts the NCAA Volleyball Tournament this weekend the game has been moved to the West Gym. Warren says they practice in the West Gym some and they will be used to it.
