Drake played its first home game in nearly a month a came away with a hard fought win. The Bulldogs had five players in double figures as they edged Boise State 72-69. Drake had a ten point second half lead cut to two with under a minute remaining but the Bulldogs hit their free throws down the stretch to post their second straight win.

Drake coach Mark Phelps on his post game show on KRNT in Des Moines says they have steadily improved their free throw shooting and he feels they should be consistently shooting in the mid 70% range. The Bulldogs are now 4-4 and next up will host Iowa on Saturday night.

Phelps says Iowa is making progress with the new staff and they are tough and hard nosed and both teams will be anxious to play after having a week off. Sophomore center Seth Van Deest led Drake with 13 points and ten rebounds.
