Another winter storm is headed for Iowa which forecasters say may dump several inches of snow on parts of northeast and north-central Iowa. Jacob Beitlich, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says a Winter Weather Advisory runs this afternoon through tomorrow morning for 22 Iowa counties.

The band of snow is going to move across northern Iowa throughout the day, dropping between two and five inches of snow. Beitlich said Iowa’s weather won’t get much of a break as another winter storm may arrive in a few days. The next potential storm may arrive Thursday, Thursday night and into Friday that could have a significant impact on much of Iowa, though that weather system is still developing.

Beitlich says the weather for Christmas Day this year in Iowa should be fairly calm, though cold, but it will be a lot better than last year’s snow and ice.
