The Iowa Hawkeyes close out the non-conference portion of their schedule tonight by hosting Louisiana Tech. The Hawks are 6-5 after a 59-52 win at Drake and coach Fran McCaffery would like to see leading scored Eric May regain his shooting touch. The sophomore guard has scored only seven points in the last two games and made only three of 12 shots.

McCaffrey says May impacts the game at both ends of the floor, averaging six to seven steals a game and he says he’s had to encourage May to shoot more.

McCaffery wants May to be aggressive on the offensive end, as he says when he plays aggressively, they are a different team. He says May feels some pressure there but he doesn’t have to, he just needs to have more of an attitude that is an “air of confidence, not an air of arrogance” and he will be alright.

Louisiana Tech is 9-4 on the season.
