A plumbing company from the Sioux City area is facing federal fines after the deaths of two workers. Speedy Rooter, based in South Sioux City, Nebraska, is being accused of a half-dozen safety violations by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Last July, employees Robert Thompson and Chad Elgert, both of Sioux City, were overcome by fumes while trying to unclog a sewer in North Sioux City, South Dakota. The OSHA report says Speedy Rooter failed to properly train its workers and had a blatant disregard for safe worker practices.

Proposed fines exceed $94,000.
