Police are looking for four escapees from a Davenport halfway house. The men escaped Wednesday night from the residential corrections facility and are suspected of later crashing a stolen car in Illinois. The escapees are 21-year old Ontario Bester, 21-year old Danterrius Harris, 18-year old Deven White and 22-year old Austin Mitchell.

Police say Bester checked out to go to work but instead called in sick. The others slipped out a fire escape. Bester is accused of borrowing a car from his girlfriend, then crashing it on a Rock Island bike path, concluding a chase by police that had started in Moline.

The driver and passengers escaped on foot. The escapees had been convicted of theft or drug charges and lived at the halfway house as a condition of their probation. Authorities say they may have fled because they were under investigation for using a drug at the facility.
