Animals seized in alleged neglect case in Fayette County.

A northeast Iowa woman is facing numerous charges of animal neglect. The Fayette County Sheriff executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence near Aurora.

Officers rescued 22 dogs and three cat. The animal’s owner, 56-year-old Susan Purcell-Varnell was arrested and charged with 22 counts of animal neglect, failing to dispose of four dead dogs and a dealer and commercial breeders license violation.
