Coming off of a 1-2 weekend at the NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals, U.N.I. wrestling coach Doug Schwab thinks his squad could be stronger. Schwab says that he’d like to see a more consistent effort from his wrestlers. Schwab says they were competitive in some matches, but others has a wide margin and they need to close the gap in those matches.

Schwab says that he expects his team to be more competitive, even in just his first season at U.N.I. He says he isn’t a very patient guy and there is not reason why they can’t show some gains and improve. The Panthers open up Western Wrestling Conference action this weekend with duals at North Dakota State tonight and South Dakota State on Saturday.

Schwab says the Panthers’ non-conference schedule has gotten them ready for league action. He says the schedule has been good with highly-ranked teams and now he says they have to grow and win matches.

U.N.I.’s next home dual will come a week from Sunday when they host Nebraska.
