Underwood teen charged with making threat on Facebook

January 18, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A southwestern Iowa teenager is being investigated for allegedly making a bomb threat over the weekend — via the Internet. Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker says the threat to Underwood Community Schools was discovered Sunday afternoon on the social networking website, Facebook.

The unidentified teen didn’t use his real name in the post, but after some checking, an investigation revealed a 16-year old male from the Underwood area was allegedly responsible for creating the post. The teen was arrested and charged with harassment. Danker says there was no actual threat or intent to detonate an explosive device.
