Police make a fourth arrest in Council Bluffs murder

January 21, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Council Bluffs police have arrested a fourth person in connection with last Friday’s fatal stabbing and believe they have found the weapon used in the killing. Officials say 43-year-old Bryan E. Reeves was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Omaha.

Reeves was booked into the Douglas County, Nebraska jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, for the death of 39-year-old Tammy Rocha, of Council Bluffs. Authorities say Bryan Reeves conspired with three other people, including his 22-year-old daughter, in the January 14th assault that police says began over the theft of a cell phone and jewelry. Rocha was stabbed several times and found on a street in Council Bluffs. She later died at an Omaha hospital.

After interviewing Reeves on Thursday, officers said they recovered the weapon allegedly used in the attack. And, with his arrest, Bluffs police say they believe all of the people involved in Rocha’s death have been accounted for. The others include 47-year-old Clarence L. Woolsoncroft, 22-year-old Lisa A. Reeves, and 32-year-old Eric E. Long.

All have been booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
