A South Dakota man is dead after a construction accident in northwest Iowa Friday.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:30 on Friday afternoon it received a call about a construction accident which occurred in a field near the Landsmeer Retirement Community, just north of Orange City.
Forty-six-year-old Andrew Lambert, of McCook Lake, South Dakota, was drilling test holes in the ground for Certified Testing Services, Incorporated of Sioux City. The sheriff’s report says Lambert had become trapped in the auger of the drilling equipment and was killed.
