A 73-year-old central Iowa woman was killed this weekend when an S.U.V. crashed into her house. 

It happened late Saturday afternoon, just after 5:30, near Easter Lake on the south side of Des Moines. Police say 50-year-old Loren Bishop of Des Moines was driving a Chevy Blazer that smashed into the back of the woman’s house, drove through it and came to rest in her front yard. 

Mary Miller was watching television when she was hit by the S.U.V. and the vehicle drug her through the front of her house and into her front yard. She died later at a Des Moines hospital. 

Bishop, the S.U.V.’s driver, has been charged with vehicular homicide by reckless driving.  He was alone in the vehicle and uninjured according to Des Moines Police.
