Iowa woman visit Ohio State

January 24, 2011 By Todd Kimm

The 18th ranked Iowa Hawkeye women complete an eight-day layoff when they visit Ohio State tonight in the Big Ten. Both teams are 3-3 in the league race. The Buckeyes are coming off a 71-62 victory at Illinois last Thursday night while the Hawks are looking to sweep the season seriesafter winning the first matchup 89-76 in Iowa City a little more than two weeks ago.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says they’ve beaten Ohio State several times in recent years and that gives them some confidence. She says it is even tougher to beat them at home, mostly because they have good teams, not the atmosphere.

Tonight’s game will be carried by ESPN2, and Bluder says that’s an opportunity to show off what they are about and she says they want to make a good showing
