A jury has reached a split verdict against five defendants in the U.N.I. Price Lab School tuition case in Black Hawk County District Court. Deliberations in the case started on Friday after closing arguments and continued on Monday with the verdict reached by 2:30 Monday afternoon.

Parents Todd and Kristi Eastman of Waterloo were each found guilty of 3 counts of tampering with records for using fake addresses when registering their children. Former Price Lab employee and grandmother Connie Bigelow was found guilty of two counts of tampering with records. Her daughter, Angela Bigelow, was found not guilty as was Cheryl Longnecker, formerly of Cedar Falls.

A trial for two other parents, including former Democratic State Representative Kerry Burt of Waterloo has been set for April. Two other parents, Angie Gilbert and Flora DeKock are expected to enter guilty pleas in the case.
