Iowa’s Big Ten basketball game against Michigan State will be played, tonight. Iowa officials had considered postponing the game due to the recent blizzard. The Hawkeyes are 1-8 in the Big Ten and while coach Fran McCaffery knows his young team will continue to make mistakes he’d prefer they not be the mental ones.

He says if they’re making aggressive mistakes, then they are probably going to keep getting better, but he says if it’s a mistake where players don’t know where to line up, then that is upsetting. McCaffery says to get some more wins during the second half of the league race the Hawks need to find ways to win close games.

McCaffrey says they have to understand the seriousness with which they need to approach the end of games, as they are not going to be up 20 points. Fans who have a ticket to tonight’s game but choose to not attend are invited to use their Iowa-Michigan State game ticket for free admission to any of the Hawkeyes’ remaining four home games.
