An autopsy is planned on a 46-year old Waterloo woman who was found dead at her home one day after she was injured in a car accident. Waterloo police say Peggy Shields was a passenger in an S.U.V. that collided with a mini-van in downtown Waterloo Saturday morning.

Neither of the drivers in the accident were injured. Police say that Shields had complained of head, neck, shoulder and hip pain and was treated and released from Covenant Medical Center. Shields was found unresponsive at her home on Sunday morning.

An autopsy on Shields will be performed at the state Medical Examiner’s office in Ankeny.
