Estherville-Lincoln Central held Pella Christian scoreless in overtime as the Midgettes posted a 61-51 victory in a class 2A quarterfinal.

Estherville-Lincoln Central coach Brad Leonard said he knew if they regained their composure they would be fine, as he says a few times in the game they didn’t do some things they needed to.

He felt two quick baskets to start the overtime was the difference as they started going inside to their big people, which he says they should have been doing the whole game. Once they did that, he says they got some scoring going.

Pella Christian coach Kevin Van Maanen says he was happy with the effort. He says they seemed to lose their legs in the overtime, but says E-L-C is a good solid team with good players in the post.

Allie Sievert led Estherville-Lincoln Central with 20 points on 10 of 14 shooting. The Midgettes will take a 22-4 record into the 2A semifinals. Taylor Stursma led Pella Christian with 16 points as the Eagles end their season with a record of 20-5.
