Man wanted for alleged kidnapping in Mason City

March 14, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Police are looking for a Mason City man accused of a kidnapping incident early this morning. Police Sergeant Jeremy Cole says they received a report of a kidnapping that had occurred within the city limits. Detectives identified 23-year-old Demetrius Flores as the suspect.

Police have not been able to locate Flores since the incident occurred. An arrest warrant for Flores has been issued. He’s been charged with second-degree kidnapping and two counts of aggravated domestic assault.

The victim’s name is being withheld at this time due to concern for her safety. She received minor injuries and was treated and released from Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa following the incident.

Anybody with information about Flores’ whereabouts or has more information about the incident should contact the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.

Second-degree kidnapping is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Aggravated domestic assault is an aggravated misdemeanor, punishable by up two years in jail.
